KARACHI: Sindh High Court (SHC) took notice of the prolonged and unannounced load shedding and power thefts in the city and sought a detailed report from K-Electric.
A petition was submitted to SHC against the unannounced power cuts and pilferages in the city. The court after hearing the case sought a detailed report from the electricity supply company, K-Electric.
The counsel for the power company informed the court that NEPRA has submitted a report on July 7, 2022, in this regard and the details of the theft cases were being provided.
The lawyer also said that the letter have been written to NEPRA in regards to load shedding.
It is pertinent to mention here that Minister of Energy, Engineer Khurram Dastgir Khan predicted that in October, both the price of oil and the price of electricity would fall.
According to him, the government was required to make difficult decisions to protect the interests of the country. Khurram Dastgir stated that the people were having problems as a direct result of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-ineffective Insaf’s economic policies (PTI).
